appreciation always is greater for the efforts of the British Virgin
Islands to maintain the difficult balance between necessary economic
development and the great natural beauty bestowed upon the nation.
That beauty undoubtedly is the greatest asset of the Islands, as the
majority of the citizens seem to agree. It is their support that has
made possible the protection of the unspoiled beaches, the glorious
hills, the pristine waters of what is certainly one of God's greatest
gifts to humankind.
It is a great privilege and an honor to be a member of the trustees
of the BVI National Parks, USA, Inc., a position that enables we lucky
ones to help support the conservation of a corner of this globe that
has become as precious to us as to the Islands' population which we
